FEU rampage next headed towards UST
OBSTACLE COURSE. FEU will have to prove its mettle once more against another traditional powerhouse.

Games on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum

2:00 PM – DLSU vs UP

4:00 PM – UST vs FEU

In pummeling Ateneo to start their campaign in the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Far Eastern University wasted no time in proving what anyone and everyone thought: that last year’s runners-up are this year’s favorites.

The Tamaraws go for another victim, this time in the form of darkhorse contender University of Sto. Tomas on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The battle between Morayta and Espana tips-off at 4:00 PM and will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.

FEU throttled their previous opponents by 24 points courtesy of the playmaking of Mike Tolomia and shotmaking of RR Pogoy and Mac Belo. The triumvirate led the Morayta-based team into shooting a scorching 51 percent from the field as they thoroughly outclassed a perennial powerhouse.

Head coach Nash Racela is, of course, hoping for the same result, but is also being level-headed through it all. “Kung ma-sustain namin yun, that would be good, but of course, I don’t think that will happen,” he said.

Out to make sure it doesn’t is a UST side that didn’t exactly come away with an inspiring victory against a young Adamson side. Only Ed Daquioag and Kevin Ferrer posed as legitimate threats on offense as only three other players were able to contribute in the scoring column.

Some of that has to do with the fact that longtime stalwart Karim Abdul is still working his way back into game shape. “Karim’s still not 100 percent, but he’s working every day and he’ll be okay,” head coach Bong Dela Cruz said.
