DLSU, FEU look to hurdle obstacle of losing streak
HOW DID WE GET HERE? FEU and DLSU are both looking to avoid losing streaks this early in the season.

Games on Sunday at the MOA Arena

2:00 PM – UST vs UP

4:00 PM – DLSU vs FEU

After suffering unexpected defeats the last time around, a losing streak is staring De La Salle University and Far Eastern University right in the eye this early in the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Consensus contender Green Archers and preseason favorite Tamaraws seek to get back on the right track and avoid a second loss in a row on Sunday at the MOA Arena.

Tip-off is set at 4:00 PM and all the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.

The Tamaraws stampeded all over Ateneo de Manila University to open the season, but then turned in a dud of an effort against University of Sto. Tomas the last time around. An eyesore of 10 turnovers from lead guard Mike Tolomia completely eroded continued great starts from Mac Belo and RR Pogoy.

Talking about the expectations that went from sky-high to doubtful, coach Nash Racela said, “Sabi ko naman sa inyo diba, our shooting then was not sustainable. But for sure, we will work hard to make up for that loss.”

On the other hand, the Archers downed defending champion National University in their first outing, but then got ambushed by the University of the Philippines in their succeeding assignment. While rookie Andrei Caracut kept impressing, Jeron Teng and Jason Perkins combined for only 15 points.

Asked about any adjustments the Taft-based squad was set to make, their tight-lipped coach Juno Sauler answered, “We’re very, very far off. We got a lot of things we need to correct.”
