LUCKY 13: UST scores trifecta of impressive wins on a Sunday
September 13 was a great day for UST and its legion of fans.

September 13, 2015 was UST's unofficial yellow day.

Why?

Because the Growling Tigers swept all three major games in signature UST dramatic fashion.

First, the Growling Tigresses narrowly edged a Bea Daez-led UP Lady Maroons, 58-52, in their UAAP women's basketball match to remain unscathed at 2-0.

Candace Magdaluyo was the heroine for UST after burying a clutch triple and two crucial free throws to seal the win.

Next came the much-anticipated and surprisingly competitive bout between the Growling Tigers and the Fighting Maroons in the men's seniors dubbed by witty fans as the "Battle of Church and State" at the MOA Arena.

Once again, it was UST coming out on top thanks to another MVP-level performance of graduating senior Ed Daquioag to lead the Tigers to victory, 67-59, and a rousing 3-0 start to the season, the school's first since 1999.

And finally, over at the Shakey's V-League semifinals, the UST Golden Tigresses put a stop to the Ateneo rampage with a four-set victory in game 2 to extend their series to a sudden-death game 3.

The Tigresses snapped Alyssa Valdez and the Lady Eagles' 10-game V-League streak as well as Ateneo's 28-game outburst dating back to UAAP Season 76.

The Thomasian community could not be happier.
