SUSPENDED. Mike Fermin will have to sit out Adamson's fifth attempt to score a victory.
Adamson University’s Mike Fermin will add another first in his first time as a head coach in the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
After becoming the first mentor to get thrown out of a game, Fermin will also be the first head coach to be disciplined for his actions. As per league rules, an ejection entails an automatic one-game suspension in the next assignment.
Fermin was ejected last Sunday after incurring two technical fouls in the same play – the first levied on the bench for improper decorum and the second levied on him for resentment to a call. The Falcons were contesting an unsportsmanlike foul slapped on Dawn Ochea which they later claimed was “unintentional.”
The development was confirmed to ABS-CBN Sports by UAAP commissioner Rebo Saguisag. As such, Adamson will be without their head coach when they once again try to get on the win column on Wednesday.
