Kiefer Ravena making early case for the MVP award
Kiefer Ravena is basically doing everything for the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

UAAP Season 78 is up and running as all teams have played four games each. Surprises are not only seen in the team standings so far as there are quite a few new names in the statistical leaders race as well.

Check them all out here.

Reigning MVP Kiefer Ravena keeps his slight edge as the league's best scorer after norming an average of 21.3 points in four games that saw the Blue Eagles bounce back from an opening-day setback to win three straight.

Newcomer Edison Battiler, the surprise of the season so far, and Ed Daquioag, who has cooled off in UST's first loss are tied for second place.

1 Ravena, Kiefer  (ADMU) -  21.3

2 Batiller, Edison (UE) - 20.5

3 Daquioag, Ed (UST) - 20.5

4 Teng, Jeron (DLSU) - 18.8

5 Ferrer, Kevin (UST) - 16.8

His team maybe struggling to pick up wins but Adamson Falcon Pape Sarr is the UAAP's top rebounder with 12 boards per game followed by reigning finals MVP Alfred Aroga.

Ateneo big man Chibueze Ikeh, powered by his insane effort in their overtime victory over NU, comes in at third.

1 Sarr, Pape (ADU) - 12.0

2 Aroga, Alfred (NU) -11.3

3 Ikeh, Chibueze (ADMU) - 11.0

4 Jose, Raymar (FEU) - 9.8

5 Ferrer, Kevin (UST) - 9.3

Kiefer Ravena is the top dude in the UAAP and the King Eagle is putting some early work in his bid for back-to-back MVPS. He is single-handedly running the offense in Katipunan as he leads the pack with 5.0 assists per game.

Last season's Finals protagonists Mike Tolomia and Gelo Alolino are close behind the MVP.

1 Ravena, Kiefer (ADMU) - 5.0

2 Tolomia, Mike (FEU) - 4.8

3 Alilono, Angelo (NU) - 4.5

4 Nalos, Joseph  (ADU) - 4.3

5 Palma, Emil (UE) - 4.0

UE's new rising star Edison Batiller is not only lighting it up for the Red Warriors but he's also clamping down on defense as he emerged as the steals leader so far and its not even close.

His 3.8 picks per game is almost double from the player coming in at number 2, which is (surprise) Kiefer Ravena.

1 Batiller, Edison (UE) 3.8

2 Ravena, Kiefer (ADMU) - 2.0

3 Nalos, Joseph (ADU)- 1.8

4 Tungcab, Frederick (ADU) - 1.3

5 Daquioag, Ed (UST) - 1.0

He may still be finding his way on the offensive end but UST veteran Karim Abdul remains a force on the block as he leads the league so far with 2 rejections per game.

The FEU frontline tandem of Mac Belo and Russell Escoto come in at number 2.

1 Abdul, Karim (UST) - 2.0

2 Belo, Mark (FEU) - 1.8

3 Escoto, Russell (FEU) - 1.8

4 Ikeh, Chibueze (ADMU) - 1.8

5 Sarr, Pape (ADU) - 1.5
