FLOODGATES ARE OPEN. UST tries to get another winning streak going as DLSU tries to keep their own win run going.

Games on Wednesday at the MOA Arena

2:00 PM – Ateneo vs UP

4:00 PM – UST vs DLSU

As the 78th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament continues, it’s becoming more and more apparent that University of Sto. Tomas is a legitimate contender instead of just a darkhorse.

The Growling Tigers set out to reinforce their legitimate contention when they battle the De La Salle University Green Archers on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.

Tip-off is at 4:00 PM and the game will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 and streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.

UST is coming off a character-building victory that saw them overhaul a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter. Different players have starred in their 4-1 record with Kevin Ferrer catching fire in the last two games while to take over from Ed Daquioag who has slowed down after a hot start.

The only old reliable yet to show up for the Tigers is Karim Abdul. With Ferrer and Daquioag so far handling the scoring department, Abdul has been asked to focus on the other end as coach Bong Dela Cruz said, “Ang importante, dumepensa siya.”

To keep the Cameroonian under control, DLSU is hoping for Larry Muyang to build on a strong performance in their most recent outing. “Larry’s been playing well. He gets his points and can rebound,” coach Juno Sauler said.

If he’s for real in the paint, the Pampanga native just might be the perfect piece to complement Jeron Teng and their talented backcourt as the Archers try to build on their back-to-back wins coming from a 1-2 record.
