The burden of winning a game is gone and Adamson head coach Michael Fermin is not contented at all. He wants more.
It didn't take Adamson fourteen games to notch its first victory in Season 78 and with that burden off their backs, the Falcons are out to do more in the second round.
"Hindi kami kuntento sa isa, hindi kami mayabang [pero] ang modest goal nga namin is to win as many games as possible so we have to build on this lang," head coach Michael Fermin told reporters after the Falcons beat the struggling UP Maroons, 73-68.
Finally scoring a win after near-misses against tournament leaders UST and FEU, the Falcons celebrated like they won a championship, but Fermin insists his young team can do better.
Provided they can develop stronger mental toughness.
"They know their capabilities, they know they can score and defend but the problem is yung mental toughness namin, yun ang medyo nawawala talaga sa game," Fermin added.
With a whole second round ahead of them and a renewed confidence after proving that they can win, the young Falcons are not to be overlooked anymore.
"Ang promise ko lang sa Adamson community [for the second round] is magi-improve kami," the rookie coach said.
