MORE THAN WORDS. What more has to be said other than the game features Ateneo taking on La Salle?
Games on Sunday at the MOA Arena
11:00 AM – UP vs Adamson
3:00 PM – Ateneo vs DLSU
No words need to be said other than Ateneo-La Salle.
The most heated rivalry in the Philippines is rekindled for the first time in the 78th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament as the Blue Eagles meet the Green Archers on Sunday at the MOA Arena.
Ateneo de Manila University versus De La Salle University takes center stage at 3:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
The old-time foes are heading into their rivalry game coming off opposite results.
During their last time on the floor, the Eagles whipped the University of the Philippines by double-digits to make up for their double-digit meltdown against University of Sto. Tomas. What gives Katipunan even more confidence is that the twosome of Kiefer Ravena and Von Pessumal have been putting out strong efforts on both offense and defense.
Still, coach Bo Perasol is still looking for some much-needed reinforcement for their leaders. “That is the challenge for us this season, to get the bench going,” he said.
On the other hand, the Archers also fell victim to UST’s hot shooting, but are yet to recover. While Taft has been on a roller-coaster first round, what still gives them much hope is that well-regarded newbies Andrei Caracut and Larry Muyang have been showing up more than ready to backup Jeron Teng.
Still, coach Juno Sauler is still challenging each and every one of his players to finally give their season some sort of order. “Everyone has to step up and be a leader. It has to be everyone,” he said.
