- Jerome Garcia said who scored 26 points to lead Adamson to its first win this season.
His coach believed he was due to have a big game and against a struggling UP squad and Jerome Garcia proved his mentor right.
Garcia scored a career-high 26 points built around five triples to lead the Adamson Falcons to their maiden win this season against the Maroons, 73-68, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
His explosion turned out to be super sweet as it came with a win, especially after coming painfully short against the mighty FEU Tamaraws in their previous outing.
"Sabi nga nila coach wala kaming pressure at sinusunod lang namin yung ginagawa namin araw-araw sa practice, buti naging maganda yung game namin. Pinaghandaan talaga namin," Garcia told ABS-CBN Sports.
It was the second straight game an Adamson Falcon had a breakout game with Papi Sarr submitting a 26-point, 22-rebound performance last week, and Garcia revealed that his import may have had a hand in his fiery shooting performance.
Sarr had eight points and 15 big rebounds.
With the second round coming up, Garcia just wants to keep improving, hopefully scoring another win for the Falcons.
