"Wow grabe pala maglaro ng ganito." - Jerie Pingoy said after his first Ateneo-La Salle game.
He had to wait for two years, but on Sunday at the MOA Arena, finally Jerie Pingoy knew just exactly how an Ateneo-La Salle game feels.
And its nothing like what he had been seeing on television.
The first-year guard manned the point for the Blue Eagles in their 76-80 loss to the Green Archers, finishing with six points and eight assists.
He did not expect the intensity and magnitude of the showdown.
"Dati napapanood ko lang 'to eh," Pingoy said. "Grabe talaga yung crowd. Hindi yung laro lang talagang fight for the school. Parang wow grabe pala maglaro ng ganito."
Pingoy, who had a rocky start to the season, seems to be more comfortable running the Ateneo offense now even with the presence of fellow blue-chip recruits Matt Nieto and Hubert Cani.
And after his first taste of the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry, Pingoy wants to get back at their rivals.
"We need to adjust lang, sa second round babawi kami," he said.
