"Some people put the blame on me but that is how the cookie crumbles." - Kiefer Ravena, after his Blue Eagles lost to rival La Salle.
Kiefer Ravena knew, this one is truly on him.
Ravena took full responsibilty for Ateneo's late-game meltdown against bitter rival La Salle, 76-80, to end their first round of UAAP Season 78.
Against the tight defense of Jeron Teng, Ravena missed t he go-ahead three-point shot.
He also missed two tough jumpers over the outstretched arms of Teng earlier that would have given the Blue Eagles a firmer grasp on the driver seat.
Overall, the King Eagle finished with 19 points, but he bricked 17 out of 24 shots.
"Talo, something has got to give," Ravena said after the game. "La Salle they just found a way to win, there is really nothing to say."
Asked on how he feels about his inefficiency from the field, Ravena says that he does not mind, adding that its up to him to lift his relatively young and new team to greater heights this season.
"Some people put the blame on me but that is how the cookie crumbles," Ravena said. "If we lose, we lose by me. Ganun talaga, I play the game with no regrets."
After squadering a double-digit lead, the Eagles are tied with their rivals to end round 1 with a 4-3 record.
