Magsanoc on Ateneo’s head coach: ‘Coach Bo still in charge'
NOT TRUE. Ronnie Magsanoc says Bo Perasol will still call the shots for Ateneo.

Amid rumors that a change is in the offing in Katipunan, Ronnie Magsanoc denied speculations that he was taking over for embattled Ateneo de Manila University head coach Bo Perasol.

“It’s not true. Coach Bo is still in charge,” Magsanoc told ABS-CBN Sports.

The member of the PBA’s 25 Greatest also added, “That’s the truth. Honest answer always.”

Perasol has come under fire after the young yet loaded Blue Eagles lost their rivalry game to De La Salle University to drop to 4-3 after the first round.

The embattled coach failed to guide the Katipunan-based team to the Final Four in his debut season in 2013 and then saw his team get booted out as the top-seed in 2014.

Magsanoc is in his second year serving as an assistant in Ateneo’s coaching staff. Two years ago, he led San Beda College – another Manny V. Pangilinan-backed squad – to a championship.
