INSPIRED PLAY. He doesn't let it show on his face on the court, but Ed Daquioag is very much inspired this season.
While Ed Daquioag continues to pile up gaudy scoring numbers, University of Sto. Tomas head coach Bong Dela Cruz says he isn’t the least bit surprised.
“’Di na ako nagugulat kay Ed. Natural na sakin performances niya,” he said right after his prized ward delivered a career-high 34 points to lead the Growling Tigers to a first-place finish after Round 1.
The Ilocos Norte native bested his previous individual best of 28 points which he garnered earlier in the season. Through the first round, he has become UST’s leading scorer with 19.4 points per game.
Asked about what has kept him breaking through whatever’s ahead of him, Daquioag said, “Inspired lang today.”
Inspired by what? Or by whom? “Thanks sa support ng family. Sa support ng girlfriend,” he said.
Still, the Tiger guard showed no emotion even as he was having a career game all for his loved ones. Always stoic, he shared he just wanted to see his best and inspired effort through to the end as he said, “’Di pa naman tapos yung game. Sabi nila diba, gameface lagi hanggang ‘di pa tapos.”
