STREAK-SEEKING. After being the only winless squad, Adamson has the chance to suddenly go on a winning streak at the expense of stalled UP.
Games on Saturday at the MOA Arena
2:00 PM – UP vs Adamson
4:00 PM – NU vs UE
After competitive losses through each and every one of their first six games in the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Adamson University finally broke through in spectacular fashion to end their first round.
Now at the start of the second round on Saturday at the MOA Arena, the Soaring Falcons look to start a winning streak at the expense of the same squad that let them enter the win column: the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
The battle for the right to move up the standings tips-off at 2:00 PM and will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
Adamson scored their first mark on the win column courtesy of an eruption by little-known Jerome Garcia. More than the returnee’s unexpected breakout, however, the San Marcelino-based squad has also welcomed the continued improvement of first-year players Pape Sarr and Jaydee Tungcab.
The same cannot be said for the Maroons who have, put lightly, stalled after a 2-0 start. Once pacing the team in terms of points, Jett Manuel has been held scoreless in back-to-back outings and the season hosts have been left to scour for other ways to reinvigorate their offense.
