VIEW FROM THE TOP. With co-league leaders UST idle, FEU has a golden opportunity to claim solo first against inconsistent UP.
Games on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum
2:00 PM – DLSU vs UE
4:00 PM – FEU vs UP
Following a five-game losing skid, the University of the Philippines is finally back to winning in the 78th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Their return to the right track is immediately in danger, however, as awaiting the Fighting Maroons next on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum are the Far Eastern University Tamaraws who have not lost in the last six games.
FEU guns for a seventh consecutive victory and solo first at the expense of UP at 4:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
Following their first defeat in the tournament, the Tamaraws have rang off consecutive victories in various ways: routs, close calls, and comebacks. While the inconsistency is a cause of concern for coach Nash Racela, being able to pull off wins however possible also proves just how potent their lineup is.
The same cannot be said for the Maroons who, as Jett Manuel said, are still learning how to win. So far in their three wins in eight games, a balanced attack on offense has proven to be the catalyst for the season hosts.
Back in the first round, FEU pulled away late from UP to come away with a 75-58 triumph.
