Johnny A believes Mike Tolomia and the FEU Tamaraws could dominate the UAAP more if they just stop taking things for granted.
Scary news for the rest of the UAAP, Mike Tolomia and the FEU Tamaraws are bound to get better.
According to assistant coach Johnny Abarrientos, even at the top of the standings, the Tamaraws have a tendency to take things for granted, limiting them from fully dominating the competition.
"Hindi kami pwedeng mag-relax eh, madami pa humahabol," Abarrientos told ABS-CBN Sports. "We need to take care of all the little things. You cannot treat onr team as lighter, hindi yun pwede sa UAAP."
The Flying A cited FEU nearly collapsing against Adamson in the first round as the prime example of their team's supposed weakness.
Abarrientos also cited the transformation in the game of their top guard, Mike Tolomia. Free from the shadows of Terrence Romeo and RR Garcia, the former PBA MVP and Grandslam champion said that Tolomia is a more lethal player now especially in the clutch.
"Right now he knows he's the main man so every time na dadating yung endgame, sa kanya pa din babalik yung bola," Abarrientos said. "Siguro naiintindihan niya na din dahil last year na niya kailangan niya yun matutunan pero at the end of the day sa kanya ka pa din pupunta no matter what."
The Tamaraws, with Tolomia and Mac Belo at the forefront, already secured a return trip to the Final Four with time to spare where they look to finish what they can't in Season 77 and win FEU's 20th title.
