Following only their second loss, UST rebounded mightily in their most recent outing using the same formula they have been using all tournament long. Yet again, Kevin Ferrer and Ed Daquioag showed the way and now Espana is back in the Final Four courtesy of a 9-2 standing.
While the playoffs are getting farther and farther away from their grasp, UE still has a chance if they win out in their remaining four matchups. Edson Batiller finally broke out of his slump the last time around and will need to rediscover his stellar stroke early in the season to keep Recto’s hopes flickering.
The Tigers clawed the Warriors in the first round, 83-76.
