Dark chocolate sidelines sweet-shooting Ferrer during game

DUDE, SWEET. Kevin Ferrer pointed to dark chocolate as the reason for his palpitations during UST's matchup with FEU.
Kevin Ferrer was having another one of his sweet-shooting nights on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Literally so sweet, in fact, because he had dark chocolate before the game.
Unfortunately, the University of Sto. Tomas' captain's pre-game snack also seems to be the reason why he had to pull himself out the game.
At the 2:28 mark of the third, Ferrer asked to be subbed out and, to the surprise of everyone, was next seen on the bench with his eyes closed and with an oxygen mask to his mouth. Only minutes later, he headed back to the locker room to get worked on by team physicians.
Asked about it after UST wrapped up their win against Far Eastern University, the do-it-all forward said while rhyming, “Nag-palpitate ako dahil sa chocolate.”
Ferrer pointed out that it was the first time he ate a chocolate bar before tip-off and it was the first time that he experienced palpitations while a contest was ongoing.
Still, the King Tiger said he was thinking of nothing else but going back in as he said, “Okay na naman ako sa locker room. Gusto ko talaga bumalik dahil kelangan ako.” He returned onto the floor at the 4:59 mark of the fourth and helped his team close out their 10th win in 13 games.
The UST faithful need not worry as head coach Bong Dela Cruz said that Ferrer is back to full health and is no longer experiencing any palpitations.
