NO CLIPPED WINGS. A strained and slightly pulled hamstring won't keep rookie stud Matt Nieto out of the Ateneo lineup.
A day after landing awkwardly in game and then walking around without any noticeable limp afterwards, Ateneo de Manila University’s Matt Nieto said that his right thigh is giving him more pain.
“I can’t walk properly because it’s more sore na plus medyo dumagdag pa yung sakit,” the Blue Eagle told ABS-CBN Sports on Monday.
According to team manager Epok Quimpo, Nieto suffered a strained and slightly pulled hamstring. While undoubtedly painful, Quimpo assured the Ateneo faithful that their starting pointman won’t be missing any time as he said, “Nothing major, but needs to be rested. He will be fine and ready for our next game.”
For his part, the rookie Eagle also said, “I’ll be undergoing therapy daily and will be ready to play next game.”
Ateneo closes out its elimination round schedule against UE on Saturday.
