RED-HOT. Ateneo has won each and every one of its five games and another one will keep them alive for the twice-to-beat advantage.

Already assured of their place in the next round, Ateneo de Manila University is looking to bolster their chances for an incentive in the Final Four of the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Blue Eagles try to stretch their winning streak to six games all while keeping themselves in the running for a top two finish when they take on desperate University of the East on Saturday at the MOA Arena.

The Red Warriors fight for dear life at 2:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.

Ateneo is currently the hottest team in the league holding the longest active winning streak on the back of MVP frontrunner Kiefer Ravena and wingman Von Pessumal. However, starting pointman Matt Nieto’s pulled right hamstring may just turn into a speed bump in their drive for a 10th victory.

On the other hand, UE is clinging to the hope that just five wins will be enough to get them into the playoffs. Another loss will put an end to what has nonetheless been a stellar showing for Derrick Pumaren’s rookie-laden squad.

The Eagles pecked the Warriors in their first round meeting, 77-72.
