LEADING MAN, AGAIN. Kiefer Ravena will take home a second straight MVP award after beating out Kevin Ferrer.
One may be already enough for him, but Kiefer Ravena better get ready to accept another MVP award.
According to unofficial statistics gathered by ABS-CBN Sports, Ravena will finish with 69.50 Statistical Points (SPs) built on averages of 18.9 points, 4.9 assists, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals.
The Ateneo de Manila University mainstay will take the award a whole two points ahead of runner-up Kevin Ferrer of University of Sto. Tomas who will end with 67.36 SPs.
Asked about the possibility of a second straight MVP award last Saturday, he told reporters, “Two will be a blessing, but one is enough. I’d rather have the championship.”
As back-to-back MVP, Ravena will match the feat last accomplished in 2011-2012 by now NBA D-League player Ray Parks Jr. The last Blue Eagle to repeat as the league’s top player was Rich Alvarez way back in 2000-2001.
Rounding out the top five finishers in the race are National University’s Alfred Aroga, UST’s Ed Daquioag, and De La Salle University’s Jeron Teng.
