ALL FOR YOU. UE and UP's final game in the UAAP 78 Men's Basketball Tournament will be all about the graduating players.
They no longer have any playoff aspirations to play for, but there’s still no doubt that both the University of the East and the University of the Philippines will be giving their all in their final outing in the 78th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Red Warriors and the Fighting Maroons hope to give team captains Chris Javier and JR Gallarza, respectively, the best of exits on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Tip-off is at 2:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
Javier has keyed the Warriors late push for the playoffs as they won two of their last three most recent games, including upsets of University of Sto. Tomas and Ateneo de Manila University. Unfortunately, fate wasn’t kind to them and gave National University the win that slammed the door on them.
One of the losses that turned out to haunt UE’s close but not quite finish came at the hands of UP in the season-opener, 62-55.
That was a long time ago when the Maroons were playing sound basketball to get off to a 2-0 start before collapsing into a 1-10 record since then. While Gallarza will definitely be making his last appearance on the collegiate floor, Jett Manuel is still undecided about his future.
