Tigers try to swipe crowns off Bulldogs’ heads

ON MY WAY. UST needs just one more win while NU needs two in a row to set a Finals date with FEU.
Game on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum
3:30 PM – UST vs NU
With Far Eastern University’s dramatic finish over Ateneo de Manila University, last year’s runners-up have successfully returned to the Finals now in the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Defending champion National University can still join them there, but will first have to force a winner-take-all affair with twice-to-beat University of Sto. Tomas.
The Growling Tigers don’t want any complications and try to put an end to the Bulldogs’ reign already on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The battle between cats and dogs begins at 3:30 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
UST was the first squad to book a ticket into the next round and also ended up as the first-seed – highlighting what has already been a huge leap after missing out on the Final Four a year ago. However, Kevin Ferrer and his boys are hoping that a nearly two week-long lull hasn’t taken away their groove.
In the groove is just exactly where NU find themselves holding a three-game winning streak. Like they always do, the defending champions are playing their best basketball late in the season and have looked like the most dangerous team in the playoffs – if everything keeps clicking for them.
The two teams split their pair of games in the elimination round.
