OUR YARD. NU is coming off making a huge statement that until somebody wrests it away from them, the league is theirs.
Games on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena
9:00 AM – UE vs DLSZ
11:00 AM – NU vs UPIS
1:00 PM – Ateneo vs UST
3:00 PM – FEU-Diliman vs Adamson
Finally, Nazareth School of National University got its statement win in the UAAP 78 Juniors Basketball Tournament.
Seeking to build on their triumph in the battle for first the last time around, the Bullpups wrangle with the University of the Philippines Integrated School on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.
Gametime is officially at 9:00 AM.
The big bodies of Justine Baltazar and Karl Penano lifted and then slammed De La Salle Zobel out of first-place while giving the Bullpups sole possession of first-place. Calling the triumph a boost for their confidence, team captain Baltazar and his mates are out to continue pacing the league.
Looking to pull off an upset however, are the Junior Maroons who are actually well-equipped to deal with NU because of a frontline that includes Will Gozum and Javi Gomez de Liano. An upset would mean even more for the Diliman-based squad after they lost their third assignment in a row by default.
Beforehand, the Junior Archers aim to get back on the right track when they meet the also winless University of the East High School at 9:00 AM.
Although he still scored 16 points the last time around, Aljun Melecio shot horribly from the field and was also unable to create for his teammates. The same could be said for Junior Warrior Jethro Publico who has always found himself at the top of the scoring column, but would need more help from his teammates to get on the win column.
Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila High School and University of Sto. Tomas High School will do battle to break the 2-1 tie they find themselves in at 1:00 PM.
In the day’s other game at 3:00 PM, Far Eastern University-Diliman takes on Adamson High School.
