Karim Abdul is not going to worry about his heavy minutes now.
It's truly now or never for Karim Abdul and the UST Growling Tigers.
Playing big minutes and doing most of the heavy lifting for UST is pretty much required for Abdul at this point for the Growling Tigers to have a fighting chance of winning the UAAP title.
The graduating big man played 36 minutes in UST's 64-75 game one loss to the FEU Tamaraws and scored 19 points.
Long-time runningmate and MVP runner-up Kevin Ferrer saw 33 minutes of court time for 15 points.
In contrast, no FEU Tamaraw played over 27.
"I don't have a choice. But if you're a player, you have to think that winning is all that matters," Abdul said on his heavy minutes.
Head coach Bong dela Cruz for his part, added that the Tigers will continue to try and pound the ball to their big man inside.
Abdul's 19 in game 1 was a good follow-up to his 23 points against the Tamaraws in the second round.
Game 2 of the UAAP Season 78 Finals os on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum where the Tigers will try to force a sudden death.
