MEMORIES. Kevin Ferrer brought back the tongue-wagging in his unbelievable third quarter eruption.
With his team on the brink of getting thoroughly dominated and soundly swept in the Finals of the UAAP 78 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Kevin Ferrer proved he was worthy of being regarded by Kiefer Ravena as his “co-MVP.”
University of Sto. Tomas’ captain erupted for 24 points built on six triples in an unbelievable third quarter that turned a nine-point disadvantage into a six-point advantage entering the final frame. The final score on Saturday: UST 62, FEU 56.
No matter who was put in front of him, whether it be pesky Ron Dennison or active RR Pogoy, Ferrer still found a way to launch the ball which, in turn, found a way to the bottom of the net. Asked about his unbelievable shooting, he answered, “Yung mga binibitaw ko, muscle memory lang. Basta tinitira ko lang.”
Apparently, the “co-MVP” himself lost his mind over what he was doing that he forgot that he’s now the new and improved Kevin Ferrer – mature and does not distract himself from the game with extra-curricular activities.
You know, the opposite of the young Kevin Ferrer whose tongue the fans got to know a little too well.

Talking about some sort of a throwback, a laughing Ferrer told ABS-CBN Sports after the game, “Nadala lang ako.”
Those who want more of the young Kevin Ferrer is in for more disappointment as this new and improved version is here to stay. As he put it, “’Di ko na gagawin ulit. Nagbago na ako.”
