HISTORY MADE OR HISTORY POSTPONED? Will FEU claim a still league-best 20th championship?
Game on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum
3:30 PM – UST vs FEU
Far Eastern University has been here before, with a 1-0 edge in a best-of-three series, only now it’s in the Finals of the 78th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Tamaraws are hoping for a better outcome this time around, however, as they attempt to finish off University of Sto. Tomas in the soonest time possible on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.
On the other hand, the Tigers hope to roar life back into their title hopes at 3:30 PM. As always, all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
FEU was in total control for much of Game One as they leaned on their fantastic depth to overwhelm their opponents. Nash Racela did not have to play any one of his players for more than 27 minutes and yet they still won handily, 75-64, to move one win away from a still league-best 20th championship.
Admittedly, UST will not be able to go man-for-man with their opponents, but it’s also highly unlikely that their spectacular core will turn in subpar performances for the second time in a row – in the biggest games of their collegiate careers, no less. Expect graduating players Kevin Ferrer, Ed Daquioag, and Karim Abdul give their all in hopes of keeping their storybook ending possible.
Right before Game Two tips off, Kiefer Ravena is set to claim his second straight MVP award. The Ateneo de Manila University star leads several other individual honorees in this season’s awarding ceremony.
