Pam Lastimosa (6) will be sidelined due to an ACL injury
University of Santo Tomas will have to make do without one of their scoring options.
The Tigresses are one fang less heading into the 78th UAAP women's volleyball after Pam Lastimosa was ruled out of action after suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury almost a month ago during practice.
Head coach Kung Fu Reyes said that Lastimosa is currently undergoing therapy. "Big loss si Pam," Reyes said.
The absence of last year's skipper means that most of the scoring burden will be shouldered by Carmela Tunay and last year's rookie of the year EJ Laure.
"Pero ganun talaga it happens for a reason, temporary fall back lang naman 'yan pero mas stronger kami pagbalik ni Pam for Season 79," said Reyes.
The loss is a big blow to the España-based squad's campaign to get back in the Finals since winning it all in Season 72.
Aside from Tunay and Laure, the Tigresses are also looking at national team member Ria Meneses, beach volleyball specialist Cherry Rondina and Jessey De Leon to step up when the season starts late next month.
