ROUND TWO. Aljun Melecio destroyed Ateneo in the first round.
Games on Wednesday at the San Juan Arena
9:00 AM – NU vs FEU-Diliman
11:00 AM – UPIS vs UST
1:00 PM – Adamson vs UE
3:00 PM – Ateneo vs DLSZ
With anyone yet to find an answer for perfect and pace-setting Nazareth School of National University, how the others will line up behind them now becomes the question in the UAAP 78 Juniors Basketball Tournament.
Second-place De La Salle Zobel collides with third-place Ateneo de Manila High School at the San Juan Arena, Wednesday to determine who between them will be given the best chance to challenge the Bullpups.
The rivalry game tips off at 3:00 PM.
The archrivals are neck-and-neck in the standings with the Junior Archers at 7-2 and the Blue Eaglets at 6-3. A sweep of the elimination round series by the green side will give them the biggest of boosts in securing one of the two twice-to-beat advantages.
As NU have already swept them, the defending champions are determined to avoid the same fate against their archrivals. To do so, Jolo Mendoza and Gian Mamuyac have both vowed to prevent another 40-point outburst by scoring dynamo Aljun Melecio.
Meanwhile, the Bullpups look to take care of business against Far Eastern University-Diliman at 9:00 AM and keep their unblemished slate intact.
The league-leaders barely escaped the last time around and have Justine Baltazar’s heroics to thank. Baltazar and John Lloyd Clemente will no doubt bring their best to get NU back into dominating form.
In other games, Adamson High School gets a great opportunity to rebound from their heartbreaking loss when they take on winless University of the East at 1:00 PM while University of Sto. Tomas and University of the Philippines Integrated School tangle at 11:00 AM.
