Miles Ocampo takes a few pointers about volleyball from no less than Ateneo de Manila star Alyssa Valdez.
Kapamilya young actress Miles Ocampo didn’t mind getting under the scorching sun in one scene of her afternoon teleserye “And I Love You So” alongside Julia Barretto.
She actually felt excited.
Well, who wouldn’t when you’re doing a scene with the country’s most popular volleyball star – Ateneo de Manila’s Alyssa Valdez.
It left her starstruck.
“Ako, siyempre ang na-starstruck,” said Miles, who admitted that she is a fan of the two-time UAAP champion and back-to-back Most Valuable Player. “Kasi actually na-meet ko na siya before kasi yung friend ko friend siya.”
Miles, who portrays the role of Joanna Valdez, and Julia, who plays Joanna’s half sister Trixie Valdez, were both stoked to have Alyssa as a guest in their teleserye.
“Nakakatuwa kasi nandito siya. Kasi dito sa teleserye po namin, isa sa mga topics namin ay about volleyball,” Miles said.
The characters of Joanna and Trixie are bitter rivals in almost everything, in school, in love and in the sport of volleyball. Alyssa’s cameo is a timely addition to the plot.
“So kapag nagti-take kami siya (Alyssa) ang peg namin,” said Miles. “Nakakatuwa na finally nandito siya at kaeksena namin.”
Julia couldn’t agree more.
“Super fun and nag-enjoy kami kanina,” she said.
Miles said that she really wanted to learn volleyball and she was happy that it was Alyssa who gave her some pointers on how to play the sport.
“No, hindi talaga (ako marunong) so ang saya ko (na naturuan) ni ate,” she said. “Actually natutuwa nga ako kapag may naglalaro ng volleyball kasi nakakaaliw.”
When asked about Alyssa’s acting debut, Miles was impressed on how the “Phenom” delivered her lines and her natural acting.
“Ok naman, ang galing-galing nga ni ate one take lang kami e,” she said. “Parang expert na expert na siya sa ganito (acting).”
“And I Love You So” airs weekdays after “All of Me” in ABS-CBN Channel 2.
