Already having swept their archrivals who also happen to be the defending champions, Aljun Melecio and De La Salle Zobel have a couple of statements left to make nearing the end of the elimination round in the UAAP 78 Juniors Basketball Tournament.

Before they can try to do so, however, the Junior Archers first need to take care of business against a University of the East side with nothing to lose at the San Juan Arena, Saturday.

At 11:00 AM, DLSZ sets out to gain even more momentum heading into back-to-back matchups against the only two teams that defeated them in the first round.

Melecio and the boys from Alabang have won four in a row and stretching their streak will assure them of a slot in the semifinals. Also, they would like nothing more than to stay on the right track as they attempt next week to avenge their losses to Adamson High School and Nazareth School of National University.

NU tries to improve their record to a still spotless 12-0 when they take on University of the Philippines Integrated School at 3:00 PM. While they already have a Final Four berth and a twice-to-beat advantage in the bag, the Bullpups still have their eyes set on an elimination round sweep that would automatically advance them into the Finals.

Meanwhile, Adamson seeks to get back to winning but will have to do it the hard way against defending champion Ateneo de Manila High School at 9:00 AM. Still hoping for a top two finish, the Blue Eaglets look to pounce on the Baby Falcons who are coming off a loss.

In the day’s other game at 1:00 PM, Far Eastern University-Diliman eyes to solidify their hold on the fourth-seed when they tackle University of Sto. Tomas.
