Rex Intal dropped 11 points in Ateneo de Manila's rout of Far Eastern University.
Ateneo de Manila is dangerous when Marck Espejo’s offense explodes.
But the Blue Eagles are unstoppable when everybody contributes.
The Katipunan-based squad proved that is not a one-man team as the Blue Eagles snatched their second straight blowout win for the solo lead, beating Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 25-18, 25-19, 25-13, Saturday in the 78th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Ysrael Marasigan and Rex Intal pounded seven kills each for Ateneo’s 33-kill total. They both scored 11 points while back-to-back Most Valuable Player Marck Espejo had 10 markers and eight perfect receptions for the 2-0 (win-loss record) Blue Eagles.
Ish Polvorosa again showed a great job in orchestrating the offense of the Oliver Almadro-mentored squad with 18 excellent sets while libero Manuel Sumanguid had 10 excellent digs.
The Tams, who are coming off a straight sets win over University of the Philippines, committed 27 errors and were disorganized in their floor defense and receptions that resulted in 11 service aces including five coming from Espejo.
Greg Dolor had six points to lead FEU while Jeric Gacutan, who scored 17 the last time out, was limited to only four markers.
