Opening day losers University of Sto. Tomas and University of the Philippines battle to barge in the win column.

The Fighting Maroons and the Tigers take center court at 8:00 a.m.
UP is reeling from a 23-25, 24-26, 23-25 loss it absorbed last week in the season opener at the hands of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws.
With almost half of its roster composed of rookies, the State U spikers were overwhelmed by the veteran crew of the Tams.
Seniors Wendel Miguel, who scored 13 points, Alfred Valbuena and Evan Raymundo need to rally their younger teammates to step up big time to avoid from falling to a two-game losing slump.
But UST is also team trying to elude a string of losses.
The Tigers were obviously lacking the same firepower they had last year with Mark Alfafara and Romnick Rico.
Something Ateneo de Manila took advantage of as the defending champion Blue Eagles whipped UST, 25-21, 25-18, 29-27, a week ago.
The two graduated last season and the Tigers need work doubly hard to move on and bounce back.
Head coach Odjie Mamon need to squeeze more from Jason Sarabia, Arnold Bautista, skipper Paul Castillo, Patrick Balse and Kris Roy Guzman to barge in the win column.
