By the Numbers: La Salle the best team so far?
Don't you dare forget about La Salle's big 3 this season.

Two weeks into the UAAP season and major storylines are already taking shape.

Who can stop Ateneo and La Salle? Is Alyssa Valdez on her way to another MVP award? Who is the next big star of the UAAP? Who makes the Final Four?

Okay, the last one may be a little bit too early but you never really know.

It has been a productive two weeks for UAAP Season 78 Volleyball and here, we take a look at the numbers that defined the early goings.

20

The number of consecutive wins the Ateneo Lady Eagles have posted since Season 76. Over that period of time, Alyssa Valdez and company have won two UAAP titles, including the Season 77 sweep.

Ateneo is 2-0 this season with no signs of slowing down.

51

The number of points UST's Cherry Rondina has in two games, the league best.

The second-year Tigress exploded for a career-high 30 points in an opening-day loss to Adamson before adding another 21 in her showdown with Alyssa Valdez. Looks like UST found a major building block in the former Cebu standout.

76

Number of excellent sets by La Salle's Kim Fajardo after two flawless games for the Lady Spikers.

She's avering 10.86 per set and is currently the best setter in the UAAP, maintaining a steady lead over last season's winner Julia Morado.

51.28 percent

Mika Reyes' success rate so far in Season 78, the best in the UAAP.

La Salle's stunner has been steady as ever, connecting on 20 spikes on 39 attempts and among those in the top 10 as Best Spiker, Reyes has the fewest faults with only two.

She's tied with Ara Galang as La Salle's leading scorer with 23 points each so far.

4

Number of La Salle players on top of the seven Skills rankings so far this season.

You can find a La Salle Lady Spiker on top Best Spiker (Mika Reyes), Best Server (Carol Cerveza), Best Setter (Kim Fajardo) and Best Receiver (Dawn Macandili).

Macandili is also the second best digger while Mary Joy Baron is the third best blocker.

You can also find three La Salle players in the top 15 of Best Scorers.
