Far Eastern University cruised past the struggling University of the East Red Warriors, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, to get back on the winning track Wednesday in the 78th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Tamaraws gored the Red Warriors in just 83 minutes to bounce back from a severe three-set beating at the hands of Ateneo de Manila for a 2-1 win-loss record.
FEU tied the defending champion Blue Eagles and Adamson Falcons in the standings.
Skipper Joshua Barrica led the Morayta-based squad’s balanced offense with 10 points coming off seven kills, a pair of blocks and an ace. Veteran Greg Dolor scored all but one of his markers from attacks while Jude Garcia also registered nine points for FEU, which sent UE to its third loss in as may outings.
The Red Warriors were buried deeper in the cellar with only Season 77 Rookie of the Year Edward Camposano and freshman Ruvince Abrot doing most of the hard labor.
Camposano had 10 points while Abrot scored eight for UE.
