FEU targets first win, DLSU looks to keep rolling
Can the defending champs get their first W of the season?

Matches on Saturday, February 13 (McKinley Hill Stadium)

1:00 PM - Ateneo vs. FEU (Men's)

4:00 PM - FEU vs. DLSU (Women's)

7:00 PM - DLSU vs. UP (Men's)

Defending champions Far Eastern University will look to get their first win of the season when they take on Ateneo de Manila, while De La Salle hopes to continue their strong start against University of the Philippines in UAAP Season 78 men's football action, Saturday at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig.

FEU opened their Season 78 campaign with a tough scoreless draw against UP, and while team captain Paolo Bugas said that they were still adjusting to the size of the field and the absence of Arnel Amita, expect the Tamaraws to come out more focused and determined to get their first notch the win column.

Ateneo on the other hand, kept things close with DLSU in their opening meeting, but things went downhill after the Blue Eagles missed out on what could have been a game-winning penalty kick. The season is young though, and team captain Mikko Mabanag will have to rally his young core to keep the Katipunan-based booters in Final Four contention once again.

In the evening game, DLSU will be setting their sights on the claiming solo lead when they meet UP. The Green Archers began their Season 78 with a bang, pulling away from Ateneo late in the second half thanks to two conversions from rookie Jan Cruz and Gelo Diamante.

UP will also try to break into the win column after their opening day draw. Fueled by their desire to once again reach the pinnacle of UAAP men's football and motivated to get a win for their brother Rogie, the Maroons will no doubt provide a stern challenge for last season's runners-up.

In the women's division, defending champions FEU will make their UAAP Season 78 debut as they open their bid for a fourth straight women's football title against DLSU.
