DLSU looks for revenge win against Adamson
After a tough loss, De La Salle University is out to get back on the winning track.

De La Salle seeks to rediscover the winning feeling as the Lady Spikers take on the Adamson University Saturday in the 78th women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Spikers try to gain solo hold of second spot in their 2:00 p.m. tussle with the Lady Falcons that will air live over ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream at sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.

In last Wednesday’s 16-25, 24-26, 25-14, 23-25 loss to National University, DLSU was careless as it committed 31 errors which spelled its doom.

The defeat put the Lady Spikers in a tie with the Lady Bulldogs in second place at 2-1.

Defending champion Ateneo is the only undefeated team this season with three straight victories.

The Taft-based squad is a team known to bounce back mightily after a tough loss and Adamson, which is tied with idle University of the Philippines at 1-1, should be wary of that.

After nosing out the Tigresses in their season-opener, the Lady Falcons dropped a 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 20-25 decision to NU a week ago.

The Lady Spikers have a big height advantage courtesy of towering middle hitters Mika Reyes and Majoy Baron, plus a bevy of hitters led by former MVP Ara Galang, rookies Tin Tiamzon and May Luna who can score in bunches.

But Adamson can offset La Salle’s edge in size with its patented floor defense and can also block too just like against the Lady Bulldogs where the San Marcelino-based spikers had nine compared to NU’s four.

Jema Galanza, Mylene Paat, May Roque and Joy Dacoron will be the vital cogs for the Lady Falcons.
