DLSU moves to 2-0-0 in the UAAP Season 78 Women's Football tournament with a win over defending champions FEU.
Nicole Andaya and Kyla Inquig both scored within the first 13 minutes of the match, while Sarah Castañeda finished things off with a late second half goal, as De La Salle steamrolled defending UAAP Women's Football champions Far Eastern University, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the McKinley Hill Stadium.
Andaya was the first to find the back of the net in the 11th minute, coming off a Shannon Arthur assist.
Just two minutes later, Inquig managed to pick up the scraps from a Regine Metillo missed free kick and turned into another conversion for her third goal of the season to double the Lady Archers' advantage.
Midway through the second half, Castañeda was fouled on her way to the goal and was awarded a penalty kick, which she easily converted, to ice the match for DLSU.
The Lady Archers currenlty control the top spot in the women's division with two wins in two games played, while defending title-holders FEU get a rude welcome to Season 78 and join Ateneo at the bottom with one loss each.
Yet to see action this season are the ladies from Season 77 runners-up University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas.
