ON THE BOARD. Manuel Medina played a leading role in UST's first win of the season.
While University of Sto. Tomas is yet to find a real replacement for now-departed Mark Alfafara, they got for themselves a glimmer of hope on Saturday at the San Juan Arena in the form of Manuel Medina.
The rookie shone his brightest yet in the Tiger Spikers’ first win in the UAAP 78 Men’s Volleyball Tournament, blanking University of the East, 25-21, 26-24, 25-18.
Medina scored 16 points, including five service aces, while Tyrone Carodan chipped in 12 markers of his own as UST finally made a mark on the standings, now at 1-2.
On the other hand, the woes kept on building up for the Red Warriors who fell for the fourth time in a row. Reigning Rookie of the Year Edward Camposano was their lone bright spot with 12 points.
