REASONS TO CELEBRATE. Justine Baltazar is having a happy birthday with NU taking Game One of the Finals.
Friday, February 19 was a special day for Justine Baltazar.
Not only were his Nazareth School of National University eyeing to take one step closer to their second championship in three years, but he was also turning 19 years of age.
The Pampanga native probably won’t grow any taller than 6’7”, but he is most definitely playing up to his potential as he nears the end of his days in the Juniors division.
Showing that he is indeed a year wiser, Baltazar hosted his teammates to his feast of 15 points, 27 rebounds, and four blocks. When all was said and done, he stood as the most visible reason why his team has beaten De La Salle Zobel for the third time in as many tries.
“Ito na yung blowout ko sa mga kakampi ko,” he said after the game.
The other Bullpups were only more than happy to join in on the celebration. Partner-in-crime John Lloyd Clemente had 16 points to his name while a total of 12 players contributed in the scoring column for them.
Apparently, this was no coincidence as their team captain/birthday celebrant had something to do about it. As he shared, “Sinabihan ko sila kagabi pa na itong panalo na ‘to ang gift nila sa akin.”
