National University is looking for back-to-back victories against University of the East.
National University eyes its second straight win and a taste of the solo lead on Saturday when the Bulldogs face the struggling University of the East Red Warriors in the 78th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Fresh from a bounce back win against the University of Sto. Tomas, the Bulldogs are looking to separate from a four-way tie at 3-1 win-loss record they share with defending champion Ateneo de Manila, Adamson and the team that handed NU its lone defeat University of the Philippines.
Game time is slated at 8:00 a.m.
Behind the heroics of Bryan Bagunas, Madzlan Gampong and James Natividad, the Bulldogs destroyed the Tigers, 25-21, 27-25, 15-15, in just 78 minutes.
NU wants to start a new winning run against a team that has dropped all of its four games.
The Red Warriors are coming off a 21-25, 24-26, 18-25, beating at the hands of UST a week ago.
With only Edward Camposano and Ruvince Abrot playing consistently for UE, the Red Warriors could be staring at another whipping from a powerhouse team.
