Mika Reyes leads La Salle in scoring again as the Lady Spikers take care of solo second.
The University of the East made it a game once again in the third set but the De La Salle Lady Spikers just had too much firepower for the Lady Warriors to handle.
Setter Kim Fajardo took it upon herself to score La Salle's final two points and the Lady Spikers took care of business with a 25-10, 25-13, 25-21 win over UE in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament at the MOA Arena Sunday.
The Lady Spikers now occupy the solo second spot with a 4-1 record while the Lady Warriors suffered their 50th straight defeat and 0-5 this year.
After the UE saved three match points, Fajardo scored on a drop and La Salle got its second straight sweep, 25-21.
"Satisfied ako ngayon gawa ng solo second kami," head coach Ramil De Jesus said. "Pero hindi naman yun ang tinitignan namin ang kailangan namin mas maging polished pa yung laro namin sa loob ng court."
La Salle had 23 errors that amounted in more than half of UE's points.
A total of 10 players scored out of the 13 players fielded by La Salle led by Mika Reyes with 10 points.
Shaya Adorador had 10 to lead UE.
The Lady Spikers, despite errors, had a relatively easy outing in the first two sets, winning by double-digits each time.
But the Lady Warriors took the fight in the third, the same way they did against UST last Wednesday, before falling short anew.
