De La Salle shoots for its second win in a row and for solo second spot.
Back on the winning track after suffering a shock two weeks ago, De La Salle University is out to begin a new roll.
The Lady Spikers face the listless University of the East Lady Warriors on Sunday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City for a back-to-back win and to climb on solo second spot of the 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.
Ara Galang, Mary Joy Baron, Mika Reyes and Kim Fajardo will again be the main arsenal of DLSU head coach Ramil de Jesus to begin another winning streak in the 2:00 p.m. duel that will air live over ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream at sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.
Three-peat seeking Ateneo de Manila remains at the top spot with a perfect 5-0 card.
DLSU started the season with two straight victories before absorbing an upset loss at the hands of National University Lady Bulldogs, 16-25, 24-26, 25-14, 23-25, last February 10.
The Taft-based squad bounced back in a straight sets drubbing of the Adamson Lady Falcons, 13-25, 13-25, 16-25, a week ago.
The Lady Warriors, on the other hand, remain in the cellar with fourth straight losses in as many outings.
With Shaya Adorador, Judith Abil and rookie Celine Domingo producing significant numbers for the Francis Vicente-mentored squad, UE could be staring at their 50th straight defeat in a string of misfortunes since Season 74.
