La Salle head coach Ramil De Jesus just gave Alyssa Valdez of rival Ateneo the biggest compliment ahead of one their final on-court encounters.
"Kahit naman sinong coach sakit ng ulo si Alyssa eh," De Jesus said of the player his team has not beaten since Season 76.
Despite Valdez and the Ateneo Lady Eagles being the primary source of heartbreak for the Taft-based squad for a couple of years now, the veteran coach has nothing but good words for the reigning two-time MVP playing in her final season.
And what he wants for his Lady Spikers in Season 78 is to finally get to the level of Valdez and truly challenge the current queen of Philippine Volleyball.
La Salle has five days to prepare for Valdez and the Lady Eagles and with the Lady Spikers currently dominating almost all facets of the game this season, it looks like Kim Fajardo, Mika Reyes, Ara Galang and company already found a new level.
