Adamson puts hold of the UAAP men's lead on the line
Adamson shoots to remain on top of the standing.

One is looking to keep pace with the powerhouse teams on top of the standing while the other wants to recover from a painful loss.

Only one team will have its mission realized on Wednesday in the 78th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The red-hot Adamson Falcons take on the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the 10:00 a.m. joust that will air live on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream at sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.

The Falcons share the first to third spot with defending champion Ateneo de Manila and last year’s runner up National University with four wins against a single loss.

Adamson’s depth is slowly getting attention as five players scored in double digits in the Falcons’ 25-9, 24-26, 32-30, 27-25, win over De La Salle University last Sunday.

Michael Sudaria, Paolo Pablico, Bryan Saraza, Jerome Sarmiento and Dave Pletado all exploded with outputs above 10 points, making the Falcons a formidable title contender.

UP, on the other hand, had its three-game winning run snapped by the Blue Eagles, 18-25, 19-25, 21-25, last Sunday.

The Maroons slid to 3-2 card in a tie with Far Eastern University at fourth to fifth spot.
