Ateneo and UE are on opposite ends of streaks. The Lady Eagles want theirs to continue while the Lady Warriors want to put an end to it.
It was a busy week in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament.
There were a number of high-scoring performances and many quality games, but during three crazy game days, two trends continued to stay the same.
No team can still stop the Ateneo Lady Eagles and the UE Lady Warriors need some serious work.

The Lady Eagles ran their winning streak to 23 games after a sweep of the Adamson Lady Falcons.
Ateneo has not lost since Season 76 and what is more impressive here on Season 78 is that the Lady Eagles have only dropped one set in five games.
Consecutive defeats suffered by the UE Lady Warriors.
The girls in red have not won a contest since Season 74 and while the Lady Warriors have shown some flashes of brilliance every now and then, they need some more work to do.
In a battle of streaks (both good and bad), Ateneo and UE square off on Wednesday.

Isabel Molde (23 points vs. Adamson), Mylene Paat (23 points vs. UP), Jessica Galanza (25 points vs. UP), Alyssa Valdez (23 points vs. Adamson), Cherry Rondina (21 points vs. NU), EJ Laure (21 points vs. NU), Myla Pablo (20 points vs. UST), Jaja Santiago (23 points vs. UST), Toni Rose Basas (21 points vs. UP), Bernadeth Pons (21 points vs. UP) all had big games this week.

The girls from Taft are the best in terms of blocking, serving, setting, receiving and digs while they are second in spiking.
We argued in week 1 that the Lady Spikers might be the best team in the UAAP, and despite wht their record suggests (4-1 for solo second), they just might be. We'll find out if that's the case in less than five days.
