Ateneo de Manila looks to keep its momentum going heading into the marquee match against De La Salle.

The much-anticipated rematch between the two-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles and De La Salle University is just around the corner.

Three days to be exact.

Though the Lady Eagles are preparing for that marquee match, Ateneo star Alyssa Valdez said that they are more focused on the present task at hand.

The Lady Eagles seek to extend its perfect run to six games and 24th overall against the listless University of the East Lady Warriors on Wednesday’s 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

“It’s a really big game for us (against De La Salle). Pero, we have a game first against UE. Let’s see,” said the graduating Valdez.

Game time is set at 4:00 p.m. that will air live on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream at sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.

Ateneo is the only unbeaten team in five starts including a straight sets domination of Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16, last Saturday.

The Katipunan-based squad is on a 23-game winning run dating back from the Lady Eagles Game 3 and 4 win in Season 76 Finals series against the the thrice-to-beat DLSU, which Ateneo will face in its end of first round match on Saturday at the Big Dome.

While the Lady Eagles are enjoying a winning streak, the Lady Warriors are on a 50-game losing slump dating back to the last three games of Season 74.
