Jessica Galanza dropped 15 points to lead Adamson University to its first back-to-back victories of the season.
Adamson University posted its first consecutive victories to end the 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament first round of eliminations on a high note Saturday at the Big Dome.
Three Lady Falcons finished in double figures as Adamson downed the hard-luck University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19, to improve to 3-4 win-loss slate.
Jessica Galanza led all scorers with all of her 15 points coming from kills while team captain Mylene Paat finished with 13 markers for the Lady Falcons.
Sophomore May Roque had 10 points in Adamson’s second straight win after drilling a career-high 23 markers in the Lady Falcons come-from-behind five-set victory over Far Eastern University that halted the San Marcelino-based squad’s four straight losses last Wednesday.
“Sana magtuluy-tuloy na hangang second round. Pero trabahuin muna ulit namin kasi medyo mahaba ang break namin,” said Adamson coach Sherwin Meneses.
The Lady Falcons sent the Lady Warriors reeling to its seventh straight defeats and a total of 52 consecutive losses dating back to the last three games of Season 74.
Shaya Adorador had 13 points, Judith Abil posted seven markers while Mary Ann Mendrez scored six for UE.
