Adamson University guns for its sixth straight win to end the first round of eliminations.
Streaking Adamson Falcons eye to end their first round campaign on a high note when they take on struggling University of Sto. Tomas on Saturday in the 78th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Big Dome.
Riding the crest of their impressive five-game winning roll including a huge upset against defending champion Ateneo de Manila, the Falcons gun to remain on top of the standings in the game set at 8:00 a.m.
Adamson and Ateneo share the lead with 5-1 win-loss records.
After absorbing a three-set loss to National University to start the season, the Falcons currently have the longest winning run. They last preyed on De La Salle, 25-9, 24-26, 32-30, 27-25.
Bryan Saraza, Dave Pletado, Michael Sudaria, Paolo Pablico and Jerome Sarmiento are all playing on a different level for the Domingo Custodio-mentored squad.
While the Falcons are peeking, the Tigers are having a hard time to climb out of the lower four.
The Espana-based squad only managed to win a single game – against listless University of the East - in five starts tied with the Green Spikers in sixth to seventh spot.
UST is on a two-game losing slump including a four-set setback at the hands of Far Eastern University last week.
