Adamson University out to start a winning run.
Adamson University seeks to post its first winning streak of the season against lowly University of the East on Saturday in the 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Big Dome.
The Lady Falcons arrested a four-game slide last Wednesday and are favored to come out on top in their 12:30 p.m. tussle with the Lady Warriors.
Behind May Roque’s career-high 23 points, Adamson squeaked past the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in a thrilling come-from-behind, 21-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-10, victory.
The win improved the Lady Falcons’ record to 2-4 just half a game behind idle University of Sto. Tomas and University of the Philippines.
Aside from Roque, Mylene Paat, Jema Galanza, Erika Alkuino and setter Fenela Emnas are expected to deliver the same productions they gave the last time out.
Low on morale and struggling in form, UE need to squeeze out more from Shaya Adorador, Judith Abil and Celine Domingo to get out of the slump.
The Recto-based squad absorbed a 25-12, 25-10, 25-10, beating from the defending champion Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles three days ago.
The Lady Warriors are winless in six games and continue to carry the burden of a long losing streak – a total of 51 – dating from Season 74.
